Children's feet are soft and pliable. They need freedom, flexibility underfoot, and space to move (not only in front and behind as they grow, but underneath, midfoot, and on the sides and tops of their toes).

And while stiff footwear can appear more supportive, having too much structure in a child's shoes can interfere with the natural mechanics of the feet and delay development of the smaller muscle groups that need to gain strength as a child grows. In fact most experts agree that going barefoot is best.

But sometimes (outside of summertimes), kids do wear shoes.

So FitFlop has created a range of sandals for kids- built with the FitFlop patented Microwobbleboard technology - and made to closely recreate the biomechanics of barefoot walking. Each pair has a flexible midsole, which helps promote "freedom of feets", better posture and encourages the bones in young feet to move naturally and freely, so developing feet have space, can stretch and are properly stimulated.

Kid's FitFlop Sizing

Kid's sizes for FitFlop sandals and shoes start at size 10, go to size 13, and then continue up from size 1 to 6. So size 10 is the smallest kid's FitFlop, and size 6 is the largest FitFlop. FitFlop only come in whole sizes. If you kids feet fall somewhere between it is probably best to go up a size... we know how fast kids feet grow!

To help size your child for FitFlop sandals and shoes, you can print the FitFlop Kid's Size Chart in PDF format. When printing the FitFlop Kid's Size Chart, it is important PAGE SCALING is set to ‘None’ in the Printer Window pop up. After printing, use a ruler double check the kid's FitFlop size chart has printed correctly.
