Searching...The new Robert Graham Collection of Shirts were born from the awe-inspiring sunsets throughout the world. The sun, in all its luminescent brilliance — paints wonderfully chromatic scenes across the globe. Transitions and countless combinations of color — sometimes delicate, and other times fierce — harmonize with the landscape, creating spectacular scenes that range from calm to dramatic. The sunset’s fleeting moments of effulgent rays surrender to the mystery and adventure of the night — offering us mind-inspiring backdrops for Robert Graham "Sunset Odyssey" Spring 2012 Collection.
The palette of the latest Robert Graham Shirt arrivals focus on the subtle beauty of a desert sun façade. Sport Shirts such as the “Naval”, “Night Bloom”, “Sonoran”, “The J.P.” and “Flamanco”, as well as the short-sleeved “Hawarra” and “Soleil” Shirts and “Sunspot” and “Titan” Shorts focus on the soft patterns of pale neutral colors that mingle with rich hues of blue, which are brought to life with dense golden yellows, cactus greens, and red oranges – akin to a lonesome cactus blooming in the middle of the desert.
As we move further into the Collection of Robert Graham Shirts, the inspiration nods to the stunning sunset shows at exotic locations across the world. Imagine the images created by the baking Tanzanian sun going down behind the horizon, while the elephants and giraffes head home for the night — enormously rich blue skies, doused with bands of tangerine shaded clouds. Or, there are the sunsets that feel so dramatic, so infused with adventure, that you can only marvel at the texture and tone that’s revealed. The endless burnt orange and fiery red textures of soft clay and hard-worked stone as the sun goes down on the Grand Canyon ultimately gives way to periods of the soft tones of pure serenity.
And then, ultimately, you are taken to lands full of history and a dream of freely playful colors that exude romanticized innocence. As the sun sinks into the Aegean Sea the clear waters reflect all the myriad shades of rose, peach and gold — there’s possibly nowhere quite so beautiful.
